Well, Sonia. Eventhough this post was not the one to be commented I approved your comment because, with no doubt we simply have different opinions and there is no reason to delete a useful link as yours. As the very title of my blog says, these are my opinions. The fact I do not quote famous writers on the matter…, well it doesn’t mean that I don’t know what they have been writing about. It’s just a matter of choice, in order to keep things as simple as possible and do not post piecese of books that could be easily bought on amazon.com and find my blog with posts kilometers long. Everyone of us can have his/her own opinions. And, by the way, it wasn’t surprising at all, for me to see the blog you linked is about danmark, that, for those who don’t know, didn’t enter Euroland.
P.S: my opinion is also Blanchard’s one…, just to say I didn’t make up anything
Just to keep it simple, I’ll try not to engage with the discussion going on over monetary issues and I’ll skip directly to the point.
Yes, beauty is useless. Or at least, not enough. I wonder how Italy would end up if “well managed” by some smart guy in – say – Stockholm..
However I want to say beauty is not just castles, churches and landscapes. It’s also a country that work in the UN against death penalty all over the world. That’s not just being “civilized”. That’s being beutiful.
One last thing: as Dostoevskij (ooh, a famous quote!) said, “beauty will save the world” and I’m confident that on this stage, Italy will be among lead actors.
Shall we say, you know nothing relevant on the issue?
I think we must.

will perhaps not help you at all.
